One of the challenges of the dairy industry is maintaining optimal blood calcium concentrations to support milk production and normal immune function.. This is especially important in the postpartum, when the calcium concentration in the blood decreases dramatically, often leading to the condition of Hypocalcemia.

A Horiba, in collaboration with a team from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, in New York, developed the Ca-11C, an ionized calcium measuring equipment. This equipment uses sensor technology in an innovative method, low cost and very easy to use. The results of the validation of this method were published in the Journal of Dairy Science:

The results show excellent correlation with the standard NIST.
It is the ideal tool to know the health status of your cows.

ERT is pleased to present this portable and convenient meter from our represented Horiba to the Portuguese market.
